Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our services – straight answers, no fluff.
General
What exactly does Blogs and Pages do?
We plan, build, and maintain blogs and websites – from WordPress setups for bloggers to fully custom solutions and publishing services. In short, everything around digital publishing.
Who are your services for?
For bloggers in specific industries (food, travel, fitness, nutrition, parenting), for individuals who want to take their blog to the next level, and for small businesses that need a custom website with real personality.
Where are you based, and what languages do you work in?
Our company is based in Oberursel, Germany. We work in German and English. We serve clients across Europe and internationally, and all our projects can be delivered fully in English.
Can I book just one specific service?
Absolutely. You don't need the full package. If you only want to migrate your existing blog or customize a WordPress theme, that can be a standalone project. We adapt to what you actually need.
Services & Offerings
What is the difference between a WordPress blog and a custom solution?
With a WordPress blog, we use our own theme that natively supports features like recipe cards, training plans, or travel itineraries. A custom solution is designed and built entirely around your requirements – without any theme limitations.
What exactly is the Operator service?
We handle the publishing of your content – from formatting and SEO optimization to the final upload. You deliver the text and photos, we make sure it goes live cleanly and in a search-friendly way.
Do you help with migration from another platform?
Yes. We have specialized tools and experience migrating from WordPress, Blogger, Squarespace, and other platforms. That includes content, images, comments, and URL redirects so nothing is lost.
Do you offer maintenance and support after launch?
Yes. We can set up an ongoing maintenance plan covering WordPress updates, security monitoring, backups, and minor support. We discuss the specifics at the start of each project.
Pricing & Costs
What do your services cost?
We work on an hourly rate basis – you can find the exact rates on our pricing page. For every project we provide an effort estimate upfront so you know what to expect.
Are there fixed-price packages?
For standard projects (e.g., a WordPress setup for a food blog) we work with reliable effort ranges. Custom projects are always billed by actual time spent.
How does billing work?
We invoice after project completion or monthly for ongoing work. For larger projects, a deposit is typical. We discuss payment terms openly at the start.
Is there a free initial consultation?
Yes. Just send us a message via our contact form. We will get back to you within one business day to talk through your project – no commitment, no charge.
Technology & WordPress
Which WordPress theme do you use?
We use our own theme, built specifically for specialized blogs. It natively supports recipe cards (food), training plans (fitness), travel timelines, nutrition features, and parenting content – without plugin stacking.
What hosting do you recommend?
For German-language projects we recommend GDPR-compliant hosting in Germany (e.g., Goneo, netcup, Hetzner). For international projects we align on hosting together. We can also handle the hosting setup for you.
Is SEO considered from the start?
Yes, technical SEO is never an afterthought with us. Clean semantic HTML, structured data (Schema.org), sensible URL structures, and fast load times are built in from day one.
Can I manage my blog myself after the project is done?
That is one of our core principles. We do not build lock-in systems. You get a walkthrough of your CMS and can manage content independently afterwards. We are available for technical changes when needed.
Migration
What happens to my existing content during a migration?
We export all content cleanly, convert it to the target format, and set up URL redirects so no existing links break and your SEO ranking is preserved.
Can I migrate only part of my blog?
Yes. Some clients migrate only their top-performing articles into a new structure. We discuss what makes sense for your specific situation.
How long does a typical migration take?
It depends on scope. Migrating 50–100 articles with images and redirects is typically done in 1–2 weeks. For larger archives we agree on a realistic timeline together.
What if something goes wrong during the hosting switch?
We always test migrations in a staging environment before going live. The old site stays active until you sign off. If anything comes up, we sort it out together – we do not leave anyone on their own.
